A low-phosphorus diet is recommended for pets with impaired kidney function. This palatable supplement acts as a kidney-supportive phosphate binder and can be mixed with food. It combines chitosan and calcium carbonate to reduce phosphate absorption from the intestines, helping mimic or enhance the effects of a phosphate-restricted diet. It also helps reduce the absorption of waste products that may affect normal kidney function.
